Okay I’m not even sure how to do this, so this is where I begin.
I have a very dear friend – the first friend I made when I moved here in 2004. It’s only May, but she’s had a very rough year already.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of last year and began chemo earlier this year.
After months of chemo, she had a double mastectomy this Tuesday, May 26. Her husband has been taking care of her while also taking care of the house and the cooking, and I know he’s mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted.
She has two daughters who are home for the summer, and I don’t think trying to learn how to cook while mom is going through this is really at the top of their priority list.
This family stays to themselves for the most part and doesn’t typically ask for help, so I’m doing it for them.
Again, I have no idea how to do this, so for right now this is how I’m doing it.
Is there anyone who lives in the Keller, TX area who would be interested in providing a meal for 4 for this family? Is there anyone who doesn’t live in the area but would still like to help by possibly providing restaurant gift cards?
If so, please contact me, and we can get everything organized. In the meantime, I will start creating a calendar for those wanting to help by bringing meals. Depending on the response I get, I may start a care calendar.
I have no idea what kind of response, if any, I will get from this, but I don’t know what else I can do to help my sweet friend. I love her dearly, and I can’t imagine what she or her family are going through.
I can be contacted through text, email, phone, social networking, or by commenting here if you prefer, or you can simply use the form below my sweet friend’s pictures, and I’ll get in touch with you as soon as possible.
Thank you all.
